Pedder Patter Child Care Centre, located close to the central business district of Launceston, was established in 1988 as a non profit organisation to help meet the needs of the local community. It is managed by the Director and a voluntary committee of people who are elected each year at the Annual General Meeting.

The Centre is licensed to cater for up to 50 children at a time aged from birth to seven years. There are 4 care areas, each catering for the individual needs of a different age group.
