Our Philosophy

We believe that all children, their families and caregivers should have access to quality childcare in a caring, safe and accepting environment.

We believe that caring quality staff are key factors to the provision of this environment.

We also acknowledge that the care provided to these children and families must be done in a way that includes the services community and neighbourhood.

Our Services

• Nutritious meals – morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack. 6 week rotating winter and summer menus.

• Educational programs designed around your child’s interests and developmental level.

Each and every day is filled with fun and play with planned intentional teaching happening. Your child's learning is done so effectively they don't even know it is happening.

The nicest thing about enrolling your children at these services is that they will be happy and well cared for. Your children will be loved and cared for each day just the way you would do it at home.

At the end of the day you know that even though they are pleased to see you, your children will also want to spend more time with their educators. It is a great comfort to know that your children are loved and protected the way you want them to be.

The centre is operated by the University as a not for profit business and is situated in Buildings 002 and 003 on the south side of the campus, close to both Manning Road and Kent Street entrances. The centre has excellent facilities and has an above ratio of staff to children, especially in the nurseries. Over the past few years, the Early Childhood Centre has encouraged all staff to upgrade their qualifications and many of the children's rooms have a number of qualified staff. Qualified staff are employed as leaders of each group, with two Early Childhood Teachers employed as leaders in the 3-5 year old preschool areas.

The centre offers a high number of places for children aged less than 2 years in five nurseries. There are also two groups for 2 to3 year old children and two groups for 3 to 5 year old children.
