Joondalup Early Learning Centre is located in Building 12 on the eastern boundary of our Joondalup campus, near Building 19 (the Science Building) and accessible from Lakeside Drive.
Its philosophy is to provide, develop, resource and manage a high quality childcare service that fulfils the needs of the community and is accessible and affordable.
The centre provides a happy, caring, stimulating, secure and free-from-bias environment for all children.
Monday to Friday - 2:30pm to 6:00pm
After School Hours Care is provided for primary aged children after school (generally between 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm), and on pupil free days.
Go Bananas Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service operates from it's own designated area based at the Go Bananas Family Entertainment Centre.
Our service is Child Care Benefit (CCB) approved, and eligible parents are able to claim Child Care Tax Rebate (CCTR) as well.
We provide before school and after school care during term time, and vacation care incursion and excursion days during school holidays.
We operate under the National Quality Standard and Education and Care Services National Regulations.
Go Bananas employs a professional team of appropriately qualified, trained, experienced and caring employees who are highly motivated and supported.
We aim to provide a physically safe and emotionally secure environment where your child can explore, socialise, and expand their interests through a variety of artistic, physical and social activities and interactions with peers.
During vacation care, incursion activities take place within the centre on incursion days, and on excursion days children can enjoy external trips out such as bowling, cinema, parks, zoo, etc.
JHC has operated a vacation care program for primary school-aged children since December 2000. The program was the first of its kind to be workplace based in a WA hospital.
The program operates for all four periods of WA school holidays and includes covering any pupil free days that occur on the first day of each term. It is open to all staff members of JHC.
Staffed by qualified childcare workers, vacation care is available from 06:30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday (full and half days are available). During the redevelopment of the hospital, the program runs from either the main campus conference room or the nearby Joondalup Family Centre.
Much of the program's success is due to the professionalism of the staff, who continually reassess the program in order to provide high-quality care. The program features activities aimed at getting kids back to the basics of fun and play and includes many excursions to local parks, the cinema and other educational or outdoor activities.
